Hypnosis has been proven to help with many medical conditions and it is an effective treatment alternative to drugs.  People use hypnosis to stop smoking and to lose weight. Those are the most common applications.A lot of people use hypnosis and hypnotherapy to overcome many irrational fears and phobias they have. 

Hypnosis works with psychological problems and helps relieve the blockages in the mind we have over certain things such as depression and anxiety.  If you have some irrational fears or feelings that you are worthless and have low self esteem, hypnosis may be able to help you.  It has no side effects as some depression medications do.

Conversational Hypnosis – the True Power of Words Revealed

The effect of hypnotic conversational hypnosis may seem almost magical when you first encounter it.  The ability of someone using hypnotic conversation to influence people at will seems almost unbelievable.

However when you look study it, you’ll see that conversational hypnosis is just a very specific use of words that allows the speaker to bypass the conscious mind of the listener and speak directly to their subconscious.

Most people normally learn this manner of talking, so when we first witness what it can do it seems amazing. In a way, reporting on the results of conversational hypnosis is like demonstrating a light switch to someone who had never heard of electricity.

It’s generally acknowledged that conversation hypnosis started with Dr Milton Erickson. He cured those who came to him just by talking with them.

One problem was that what Dr. Erickson did sprang from who is was. Even he wasn’t certain just how he did what he did.

However, recordings and transcripts exist. Meticulous study of these records have resulted in knowledge of what was going on.

Perhaps the most surprising thing about conversational hypnosis is that there’s no complicated ritual. The hypnotist just talks in a way that at first seem nothing out of the ordinary, but the subject is hypnotized just the same.

There are natural laws about how our minds work.  Hypnotic conversation takes advantage of these laws to have its effect.

This simple example may help you understand it better.

The conscious mind hears negatives (for example :no” and “don’t” but the subconscious mind doesn’t.

If I tell you “Don’t walk in the flower bed” what image forms in your mind? An image of a person, maybe you, walking in a flower bed. The “don’t” didn’t change that.

On the other hand consider “Walk on the garden path.” The difference is clear.

A person skilled with hypnotic conservation can use this principle to hypnotize even someone who claims to be resistant.

Traditional hypnotic methods might use suggestions something like “Now relax your arms, now your shoulders,…” To which the resistant subject says “No way”. Their resistance has something to push against.

Now consider the response to: “Don’t relax any more quickly and easily than you feel comfortable doing.” The conscious mind hears the word “don’t” and has nothing to resist  With the resistance disarmedthe subconscious is available to suggestions like let the tension ease from your body.

Of course this is an elementary example.  Even so I believe it indicates.

Until recently, it has been almost to learn conversational hypnosis.  There weren’t enough qualified teachers and their classes were infrequent, hard to get to and expensive.
